Devi Sri Prasad Commends Rashmika’s Stellar Acting in The Girlfriend

Renowned music composer Devi Sri Prasad, affectionately known as DSP, has expressed his admiration for Rashmika Mandanna’s performance in The Girlfriend. Having composed for hit films like Pushpa 2: The Rule, Thandel, and Kuberaa, DSP stated that Rashmika “deserves a national award” for her role in this film.

On social media, DSP posted a movie poster and remarked, “#TheGirlfriend — A film that I applauded wholeheartedly recently! Wow! Rashmikaa… You are more than just a ‘national crush’ — you undoubtedly merit a ‘national award’ for The Girlfriend.”

Furthering his praise, DSP highlighted Rashmika’s talent for portraying innocence authentically, stating, “Having captivated us with versatile roles in Pushpa, Animal, Chaava, and Kubera, how did you so easily and convincingly regain that innocence in your expressions? It’s evident that you truly lived it. The depth of your expressions is astonishing,” he remarked.

He also commended director Rahul Ravindran for his sensitive handling of the subject matter, saying, “Every person should see this film! Rahul sir, how did you manage such a delicate subject so smoothly? Hats off to you and the producers for delivering this heartfelt emotion!”

Additionally, he praised Dheekshith Shetty for his commanding performance as the male lead, as well as Anu Emmanuel for her display of “subtle maturity” throughout the film. DSP acknowledged the contributions of Hesham Abdul Wahab (music), Krishnakanth Vasant (cinematography), and Chota K Prasad (editing), characterizing their work as “beautiful and impactful.”

The Girlfriend, directed by Rahul Ravindran, features Rashmika Mandanna as Bhooma Devi alongside Dheekshith Shetty. This Telugu romantic drama delves into a seemingly fairy-tale romance that turns toxic, largely due to the male lead’s aggressive tendencies. The cast also includes Anu Emmanuel, Rao Ramesh, and Rohini in significant roles.

Rashmika’s embodiment of Bhooma Devi has garnered widespread acclaim from both audiences and critics, highlighting her emotional depth and versatility.
