Delhi Blast Investigation Uncovers Bomber's Preparations in Parking Lot

Post by : Raina Nasser

Delhi, Nov 19, 2025: Authorities investigating the devastating Delhi blast have unveiled significant insights into Umar Mohammed, also known as Umar un-Nabi, the attacker near the renowned Red Fort. Reports indicate that Umar dedicated close to three hours constructing explosives in a public parking area adjacent to Sunehri Masjid prior to executing the fatal explosion.

CCTV footage reveals that Umar arrived at the parking lot at 3:19 PM and departed at 6:28 PM, with the explosion occurring at approximately 6:52 PM. Officials noted that he remained inside his vehicle throughout this period, illustrating careful planning and coordination with his associates.

Investigators confirmed that Umar was in ongoing communication with his handlers after entering Delhi that morning, assessing potential target sites. The choice for parking near the Red Fort was influenced by its symbolic importance, though they failed to recognize that the site was closed due to it being a Monday, resulting in an almost deserted lot. Thus, the decision was made to target the busy Netaji Subhash Marg, located between the Red Fort and Chandni Chowk.

The tragic explosion resulted in the loss of 13 lives and left 20 injured. Insider sources disclosed that Umar acted out of panic as his accomplices, Muzammil and Shaheen—both medical professionals—had been apprehended during a major explosives haul in Faridabad. Fearing arrest, Umar hastened his agenda, entering the capital in a vehicle laden with explosives and detonating shortly after his departure from the parking facility.

The investigation remains active as authorities strive to trace Umar's network and comprehend the breadth of his planning efforts. Officials indicated that mapping his movements will be pivotal in thwarting future similar threats.

This disclosure underlines the chilling intent behind the Delhi blast and reiterates the ongoing risk posed by terror networks in urban environments. Security agencies are utilizing technological evidence, including CCTV footage and communication analyses, to piece together the timeline, ensuring justice and enhancing security measures around critical locations.
