Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Ltd has forged a significant long-term partnership with AJet and Turkish Airlines, leasing 10 new Boeing 737-8 aircraft. The delivery schedule is set in two phases, with deliveries occurring in 2026 and 2027, as AJet seeks to scale operations in Türkiye’s burgeoning aviation market.
Firoz Tarapore, DAE's Chief Executive Officer, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration. He stated that DAE is excited to assist Turkish Airlines, a long-time partner, in propelling AJet's expansion with state-of-the-art, efficient planes. Tarapore emphasized that Türkiye’s aviation sector is one of the fastest-growing globally, leading to a significant demand for modernized fleets. Data from Türkiye’s Ministry of Transport indicated a 5.7 percent rise in flight activity during the first half of 2025, showcasing a robust trend in passenger movements.
He also expressed gratitude towards Turkish Airlines and AJet for their trust in DAE. Wishing them success with the new additions, Tarapore remarked on the new-technology, fuel-efficient aircraft that are designed to lower emissions and operational costs, which is vital for enhancing sustainability in the aviation sector.
The Boeing 737-8 model is a part of the advanced 737 MAX series, recognized for superior fuel efficiency and performance capabilities on medium-haul routes. For an expanding airline like AJet, these jets present significant advantages in efficiency and adaptability. The updated fleet positions AJet to meet increasing passenger demand and broaden its route offerings across various regions.
Currently, DAE operates, manages, or holds commitments for a total of 236 Boeing aircraft, with 119 in the 737 MAX family. This reflects DAE's unwavering confidence in the aircraft series and its enduring relationship with Boeing. DAE continues to be a pivotal player in supporting global airline growth by providing contemporary and dependable aircraft solutions.
This latest agreement is a vital milestone for Turkey's aviation industry. With escalating air travel and tourism demand, AJet and Turkish Airlines are emphasizing the expansion of their fleets with fuel-efficient jets. The surge in flight operations and enhancement of airport facilities in Türkiye indicate a growing need for advanced aircraft.
By partnering with DAE for this lease, AJet is poised to meet forthcoming travel demands, enhance punctuality, and deliver an improved travel experience for passengers. The introduction of these new planes in 2026 and 2027 aligns with the airline's broader ambition for growth and modernization.
In conclusion, this agreement is a landmark development for DAE, AJet, and Turkish Airlines. It solidifies DAE's prominent role in the global aircraft leasing sector and underscores its dedication to providing airline partners with advanced and efficient aircraft. Moreover, it fortifies AJet's future vision, ensuring travelers benefit from a modern and reliable fleet.
