Cockroach Janta Party Secures Approval from Delhi Police for NEET Leak Protest

Post by : Raina Nasser

On Saturday, the Delhi Police authorized the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to stage a protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. This demonstration is aimed at calling for Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation due to alleged NEET paper leak issues that have raised alarms among students and parents nationwide.

Leading the protest is Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockroach Janta Party, who flew in from the United States on Friday. Reports indicate that he was briefed by police officials upon arrival and permitted to proceed to Jantar Mantar, the site of the planned protest.

Prior to receiving the police's official nod, Dipke had encouraged his supporters to assemble at the Parliament Street Police Station to seek protest permission. Following the authorization, he directed them to head straight to Jantar Mantar instead.

In preparation for the event, Delhi Police have deployed approximately 2,000 personnel around the protest area and other Central Delhi locations. Enhanced security measures are in place to ensure the demonstration is orderly and does not interfere with everyday operations.

A pamphlet circulating at the venue reveals the protest’s objectives: demanding accountability and justice for students affected by the NEET leak, as well as the resignation of Minister Pradhan. The pamphlet highlights that a petition for his resignation has garnered over eight lakh signatures.

Launched by Abhijeet Dipke on May 16, the Cockroach Janta Party originated as a satirical digital initiative. It gained substantial attention online amid controversy surrounding comments made about Chief Justice of India Surya Kant. The platform successfully attracted millions of followers across different social media outlets in a short time.

The protest has sparked notable public interest, with examination transparency and student rights continuing to be pressing topics in national discourse. Authorities are vigilantly observing the gathering as protesters make their voices heard in the capital.
