Chinese Vice President Han Zheng and his delegation have formally wrapped up their official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The delegation left King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh after a series of scheduled bilateral meetings aimed at strengthening cooperation and deepening the countries' long-term relationship.
At the airport, Han Zheng received a formal send-off from Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Riyadh Region, alongside senior Saudi dignitaries. The departure ceremony underscored the mutual respect accorded to the visit and highlighted the diplomatic priority both capitals place on sustained engagement.
During his stay, Han Zheng engaged with senior Saudi leaders on measures to advance bilateral ties. Discussions covered developments in energy, trade, technology, culture and education, with both sides assessing progress and outlining collaborative avenues that complement Saudi Vision 2030 and China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
Saudi Arabia and China sustain a substantial economic partnership, with China among the kingdom’s top trading partners and a principal importer of Saudi crude. The countries continue to expand investment links, and recent cooperation has extended into renewables, logistics, infrastructure projects and digital innovation. The visit sought to consolidate these gains and identify fresh areas for joint investment.
Officials also emphasized the growing role of cultural and educational exchanges in cementing people-to-people connections. Planned initiatives discussed include student mobility schemes, university partnerships and shared cultural programming meant to broaden mutual understanding beyond government-to-government ties.
Han Zheng and Saudi representatives reviewed regional and global matters of common concern, reaffirming a shared interest in promoting stability, peace and sustainable development. Both governments signalled support for multilateral dialogue and pledged closer coordination in international fora to address global challenges.
The close of the visit reflected the depth of trust and cooperative intent that characterizes Saudi-China relations. Leaders on both sides highlighted the benefits of a balanced strategic partnership that contributes to wider economic resilience and global connectivity.
Officials expressed confidence in the next steps of the bilateral agenda, expecting the visit’s outcomes to foster further high-level exchanges and broaden strategic cooperation. Commitments were made to pursue joint projects that encourage innovation, attract investment and support sustainable growth.
Han Zheng’s departure marked the end of a visit that both sides described as substantive and forward-looking. The warm reception and official courtesies offered during his stay symbolized an evolving partnership, building on historical ties and laying groundwork for deeper collaboration in the years ahead.
