The Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood of the UAE met with Türkiye’s Zero Waste Foundation to strengthen cooperation in sustainability. The meeting took place during the Global Zero Waste Forum in Istanbul, focusing on empowering children and youth to play active roles in protecting the environment. Both organizations agreed on the importance of youth leadership in tackling global waste and sustainability challenges.
Al Reem Abdullah Al Falasi, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council, and Samed Ağırbaş, President of Türkiye’s Zero Waste Foundation, discussed innovative approaches to global waste issues. The dialogue emphasized transforming waste into energy, promoting environmentally friendly practices, and developing new sustainable models that could be adopted worldwide. The two sides expressed a shared vision to make environmental protection both practical and educational for future generations.
During the meeting, Al Reem Al Falasi highlighted that the future depends on empowering children and youth to become environmental leaders. She stressed that encouraging their participation in sustainability programs and global forums helps them develop responsibility toward nature and inspires innovation in addressing ecological issues. The council emphasized that sustainability education must start early, building lifelong awareness among young citizens.
