In a significant twist in the protracted legal saga between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, the Fight Club actor has initiated a lawsuit concerning their co-owned Chateau Miraval winery. Recent court filings unveil exchanges between Brad's legal representatives and Jolie's attorneys regarding her 2021 transaction of her shares in the winery.
The couple, who finalized their divorce in December 2024—almost eight years after their initial separation in 2016—share six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Vivienne, and Knox. They have faced a series of legal challenges post their split.
Pitt had previously filed a lawsuit in 2022, alleging that Jolie divested her interest in the winery in violation of a prior agreement that neither would sell without the other's consent.
New court documents include a November 2023 email from Jolie's legal team addressing Pitt’s lawsuit, stating that the burden of substantiating the claimed $35 million damages “is a result of Mr. Pitt’s own actions.”
Moreover, Jolie's attorneys emphasized that Pitt is pursuing “ongoing damages for purported harm to Miraval's operations,” failing to provide documents that clarify his request for a four-year NDA related to personal misconduct.
Brad Pitt is currently demanding 22 specific documents, countering Jolie's recent assertion of attorney-client privilege regarding certain discussions.
