Tere Ishk Mein, starring Dhanush and Kriti Sanon, has successfully generated ₹76.75 crore at the Indian box office within its first six days. The film enjoyed a robust opening weekend, although it experienced the customary midweek decline while retaining consistent occupancy in major urban areas.
On its opening weekend, the film grossed ₹16 crore on Friday, followed by ₹17 crore on Saturday (up by 6.25%), and ₹19 crore on Sunday (up by 11.76%). Monday saw a decrease to ₹8.75 crore (down by 53.95%), rebounding to ₹10.25 crore on Tuesday (up by 17.14%), and concluding its Wednesday collection with ₹5.07 crore. While the weekend saw a boost—especially on Sunday—weekdays exhibited typical declines in line with audience patterns.
Occupancy rates varied by location, with Chennai and Jaipur leading at 16%, and Lucknow following closely at 15.33%. Cities like Mumbai, Pune, and the NCR region recorded attendance between 12% and 13%, while Hyderabad, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Chandigarh, Surat, and Bhopal’s figures ranged from 5.33% to 11.67%. Morning and afternoon shows averaged 4% to 18%, while evening performances performed slightly better, although night shows struggled completely at 0%. Chennai hosted 57 shows, while the NCR had the highest with 1,296 shows, illustrating audience distribution across different regions.
Directed by Aanand L. Rai, Tere Ishk Mein narrates the poignant love story of Shankar (Dhanush), a volatile Air Force pilot, and Mukti (Kriti Sanon), the psychologist assigned to his case. Their journey from college romance to obsession, betrayal, and heartbreak provides a gripping narrative full of emotional intensity.
With music composed by A. R. Rahman, the film has inspired discussions around its dark themes and intense storyline, keeping its audience captivated through performances, music, and emotional layers.
