Borouge Enhances Automotive Production with ROX Motor in UAE

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a significant advancement for sustainable automotive manufacturing in the UAE, Borouge has teamed up with ROX Motor. Their collaboration features Borouge's state-of-the-art lightweight polyolefin materials utilized in 17 parts of ROX Motor’s flagship ADAMAS SUV. This initiative aligns with the ongoing efforts to prioritize local innovation as part of the UAE’s “Make it in the Emirates” directive.

The integration of Borouge's specialized polyolefins leads to a reduction in the vehicle's overall weight, boosting energy efficiency and enhancing recyclability—crucial elements in the current eco-conscious automotive landscape. This partnership not only elevates the performance of the ADAMAS SUV but also underscores the UAE's objective to fortify its manufacturing sector by localizing the production of advanced automotive components.

Earlier this year, the two companies inaugurated a collaborative innovation laboratory in Shanghai, focused on pioneering research and development in lightweight materials. This laboratory is pivotal for creating the next generation of vehicle designs that emphasize sustainability alongside strength and luxury.

The incorporation of Borouge's innovative materials in multiple components of the ADAMAS SUV showcases a dedicated effort to deliver eco-friendly automotive solutions directly from the lab to the roads. This partnership is closely aligned with national goals aimed at increasing in-country value and positioning the UAE as a center for advanced manufacturing and industrial progress.
