Bahrain and Argentina Strengthen Ties at UN Meeting

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

During the recent United Nations Security Council meetings in New York, Bahrain’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, engaged in discussions with Pablo Quirno, Argentina’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship.

The dialogue centered on their nations' robust bilateral relations, exploring avenues for greater collaboration across diverse sectors. Both ministers underscored the significance of fostering partnerships that would yield benefits for their citizens.

Key regional developments were also on the agenda, particularly concerning Iranian aggressions directed at Bahrain and its allies, including Jordan and the GCC states. They voiced apprehensions regarding rising tensions and their repercussions for regional stability.

Furthermore, discussions included the ramifications of Iran’s control over the Strait of Hormuz, emphasizing its critical role in global trading routes and the broader economic landscape. Any interruptions in this vital passage pose a significant concern for international commerce.

The meeting showcased a commitment to mutual interests and cooperation on pressing global and regional challenges.

Accompanying the ministers was Bahrain’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaiei, along with senior officials, including Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Head of the Coordination and Follow-up Affairs Sector, and Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of the Organizations Sector, as well as other members from their delegation.
