Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, the Speaker of the House of Representatives from Bahrain, engaged with Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of Pakistan's National Assembly, during the 152nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly in Istanbul.

This bilateral meeting, occurring alongside the Bahraini delegation's participation in the forum, underscored the critical role of fostering parliamentary dialogue and collaboration between both nations.

The Bahraini Speaker highlighted the solid, enduring ties that unite Bahrain and Pakistan, noting consistent advancements in cooperation across various sectors, and commended Pakistan's role in fostering peace and stability in the region.

He reiterated Bahrain's stance on regional security, condemning recent incidents involving Iran that affect Bahrain, Gulf Cooperation Council nations, and Jordan, categorizing these as breaches of international law and threats to stability.

In response, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq stressed Pakistan's dedication to furthering relations with Bahrain, particularly within parliamentary frameworks, while advocating for enhanced cooperation in shared interests.

The dialogue also encompassed critical regional and international developments, with both leaders stressing the necessity of ongoing parliamentary involvement to nurture peace, stability, and constructive engagement across the broader region.
