In a significant development, the regional headquarters of AWOT Global Logistics Corporation has been inaugurated at Dubai Airport Freezone (DAFZ), which is part of the Dubai Integrated Economic Zones Authority (DIEZ). This move marks a pivotal moment in enhancing Dubai’s logistics and supply chain infrastructure.
This expansion signals the confidence of leading logistics firms in Dubai’s favorable business climate, top-tier infrastructure, and its strategic location at the crossroads of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, and Europe.
The inauguration featured Arif Al Khouri, Senior Vice President of Customer Services at Dubai Airport Freezone, and Chris Yang, General Manager of AWOT for the MENA region. Key executives from AWOT, such as David Lee, Chief Operating Officer; Kenny Li, Chief Commercial Officer; and Sophia Zeng, Vice President of Overseas Units, were present, reflecting the strategic significance of this move.
Establishing a regional hub at DAFZ fits into AWOT’s long-term strategy to enhance its footprint across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe. The headquarters will facilitate the coordination of regional operations while utilizing Dubai’s competitive logistics capabilities and access to international markets.
Dubai Airport Freezone emphasizes that this initiative aligns with its broader goal of attracting prestigious global firms focusing on advanced logistics and smart supply chain solutions. The integrated business framework at DAFZ continues to bolster international trade and reaffirm Dubai’s position as a leading global logistics hub and a bridge between Asian and other global markets.
Fostering Growth and Connectivity
In his remarks, Arif Al Khouri noted that the establishment of AWOT’s regional headquarters epitomizes the confidence that global enterprises place in Dubai’s economic environment.
He highlighted that DAFZ provides an integrated platform designed to support growth and sustainability, contributing directly to the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to double the emirate’s economy and position it among the top three global cities.
Al Khouri pointed out that DAFZ’s proximity to Dubai International Airport, coupled with advanced infrastructure and streamlined operations, enables logistics firms to efficiently manage complex supply chains as global trade volumes rise.
Chris Yang regarded the launch of the regional headquarters as a critical milestone in AWOT’s journey toward regional and global expansion, emphasizing that Dubai serves as an ideal hub for integrated logistics solutions due to its favorable business environment and world-class infrastructure.
Global Operations and Reach
Based in China, AWOT employs over 1,500 personnel and operates 55 self-managed facilities across China, Hong Kong, and Southeast Asia, alongside significant presences in North America and Europe. Collaborating with more than 300 partner agents in over 100 countries worldwide, AWOT ranks among the top ten air freight companies globally, placing ninth according to the 2025 Armstrong & Associates rankings. The company has operated over 1,800 exclusive charter flights connecting Asia to the United States, Latin America, Europe, and other Asian regions, managing close to 780,000 metric tonnes of air cargo.
AWOT’s partnerships extend to leaders in technology and industry, as well as major international airlines and shipping companies, enabling it to provide integrated, high-efficiency logistics services across various sectors.
Innovative Operations and Digital Integration
From its new Dubai base, AWOT will supervise air, sea, and land freight operations, oversee cross-border transport, specialized cargo handling, and large-scale project logistics. This facility will also act as a coordination point for regional and international alliances.
DAFZ has pledged to bolster AWOT’s operations by linking the company to a fully-integrated network, comprising logistics service providers, customs entities, clearance agents, and distribution partners, enhancing operational flexibility and effectiveness.
The new headquarters will also facilitate the deployment of AWOT’s cloud-based platforms, sophisticated tracking technologies, and data analytics solutions, aimed at improving visibility, speed, and reliability throughout regional supply chains.
Dubai Airport Freezone remains dedicated to providing the regulatory, technical, and institutional support essential for AWOT’s expansion, while the latter plans to employ its global expertise to contribute significantly to the ongoing development and competitiveness of Dubai’s logistics industry.
