Australia has made a significant change for the second Ashes Test against England, opting to exclude seasoned spinner Nathan Lyon in favor of a fully pace-focused lineup in Brisbane, starting Thursday. Khawaja, plagued by back spasms during the opening Test of the five-match ICC World Test Championship series, has been ruled out following medical evaluations, paving the way for Josh Inglis to return for the day-night fixture.
Inglis, who relocated from England to Australia in his youth, has established himself as a formidable right-handed batsman. He will be making his fourth Test appearance, marking his first Ashes encounter under lights at the Gabba. His inclusion adds batting flexibility to Australia’s lineup.
