Arab Parliament Denounces Iran's Assaults on UAE, Affirms Support for Security

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, the Arab Parliament's Speaker, expressed strong disapproval of Iran's missile and drone strikes aimed at the United Arab Emirates, labeling them as “hostile and terroristic actions” that jeopardize both regional peace and stability.

In a declaration made on Saturday, Al Yamahi characterized the assaults as a significant escalation and a blatant breach of international law, the UN Charter, and the tenets of neighborly conduct. He cautioned that these actions directly threaten Arab national security and heighten tensions within the region.

The Arab Parliament Speaker remarked that Iran’s ongoing hostilities signify a confrontational stance that aims to incite disorder and disrupt the security of the Middle East. He emphasized that such actions are detrimental to both regional and global peace.

Al Yamahi affirmed the Arab Parliament's unequivocal support for the UAE in all necessary measures to safeguard its security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. He reiterated that the UAE's security is intrinsically linked to the broader notion of Arab national security.

He additionally urged the international community and the United Nations Security Council to act immediately and decisively against the assaults. He called on world leaders to adopt a deterrent approach to curb Iran's recurrent violations, ensuring the safety and stability of Arab nations.

The statement reinforced the Arab Parliament’s unwavering solidarity with the UAE and its ongoing commitment to supporting measures that protect citizens, residents, and essential infrastructure from security threats.
