The Arab Federation for Digital Economy participated in significant international events in Geneva, such as the Global Forum for Digital Governance Solutions “GovTech Deep-Dive” and “Trust Valley Day 2025”. Dr. Ali Mohammed Al-Khouri, Chair of the Federation’s Board, led the delegation. Discussions focused on global digital transformation trends, GovTech strategies, service enhancement, transparency, and readiness for future technologies.
Organised by the World Bank and attended by government officials alongside tech specialists, the sessions emphasised the necessity of robust collaborations between governmental entities and the private sector. Such partnerships are crucial for advancing projects in artificial intelligence, government data handling, digital security, and institutional growth. At Trust Valley Day 2025, emphasis was placed on cybersecurity and digital trust, while startups from the “Tech4Trust” initiative exhibited their groundbreaking cyber solutions employed across Europe.
Additionally, the Federation attended the GovTech Innovation Challenge 2025 awards ceremony, celebrating cutting-edge digital governance projects alongside the World Bank and Swiss authorities. In informal meetings, the Federation discussed collaboration with the World Bank on the Arab Digital Economy Index and initiatives aimed at Arab Digital Transformation. The Bank recognised the UAE's prowess in digital advancement, attributing it to its strong tech infrastructure and progressive innovation strategies.
Dr. Al-Khouri noted that the collaboration with the World Bank would refine the Arab Digital Transformation Index, enhancing its effectiveness in evaluating progress among Arab nations. Both entities are exploring avenues to expand their digital project platform, created in partnership with UNDP and ESCWA, which seeks to establish a cohesive Arab framework for classifying digital projects, bolstering the Arab digital economy, and enhancing access to global funding opportunities.
He further highlighted that these international engagements enable Arab nations to leverage advanced experiences worldwide and establish robust digital systems for future readiness. The Federation is committed to collaborating with global organisations to bolster Arab digital policies and support regional integration across the digital landscape.
