In 2025, Rosé and Bruno Mars achieved remarkable success with their collaboration “APT.,” which clinched the top spot on Apple Music’s Global Song Chart. Recently released year-end figures by the streaming platform confirmed that the track, which soared in popularity throughout 2024, maintained its impressive momentum. This marks a significant achievement as it is the first year-end global No. 1 for both artists.
Following closely in second place is Kendrick Lamar and SZA’s highly praised collaboration “Luther.” Bruno Mars makes another appearance in third with his heartfelt duet “Die With a Smile” alongside Lady Gaga. Kendrick Lamar’s earlier chart-topping hit “Not Like Us” also claimed fourth place, while Billie Eilish rounded out the top five with her beloved track “Birds of a Feather.”
Kendrick Lamar’s album “GNX” significantly impacted this year, captivating listeners globally. Five songs from this album were featured in the global Top 25, reinforcing Lamar’s strong influence over current music trends.
Among the 100 songs on Apple Music’s year-end list, 36 were by female artists, a slight decrease from last year’s record of 39. Nevertheless, seven of the Top 10 songs featured female performances, effectively more than doubling last year's representation.
“APT.” excelled in various other year-end categories as well, topping the Shazam Global Radio Spins chart, the Top 100: Global Radio chart, and the platform's most popular lyrics chart. Rachel Newman, co-head of Apple Music, praised its global appeal, indicating that its success illustrates the power of music which transcends cultural boundaries.
Alongside the global chart, Apple Music unveiled its Replay feature, similar to Spotify's Wrapped. This tool provides insights into users' listening patterns throughout the year, showcasing newly discovered artists, long-standing favorites, returning musicians, total listening minutes, the number of artists played, streaks, and preferred genres. Artists themselves will also receive valuable analytics regarding audience growth and performance metrics.
Earlier last month, Apple Music named Tyler, the Creator as its Artist of the Year, celebrating the release of his acclaimed album “Chromakopia,” which amassed 4.5 billion listening minutes from November 2024 to October 2025. Zane Lowe, Apple Music’s global creative director, praised Tyler’s innovative artistry, stating his impact on fans and fellow musicians will resonate for years to come.
