Controversy Erupts on Bigg Boss 19 as Amaal and Gaurav Clash Over Nepotism

Post by : Mina Rahman

Inside the Bigg Boss 19 house, tensions flared as singer Amaal Mallik and actor Gaurav Khanna engaged in a fervent discussion about nepotism in the entertainment world. What initiated as a mere disagreement escalated rapidly, especially when Amaal referred to his father, music composer Daboo Malik, as a “failure.”

The Roots of the Discourse

Gaurav Khanna opened the debate by asserting that individuals connected to the film industry usually secure early opportunities more readily than those from outside. He emphasized that this initial breakthrough grants insiders a substantial advantage.

He remarked, “Jahan tumhara struggle shuru hota hai, wahaan hamara aspiration hai,” illustrating their contrasting starting points.

Amaal defended his family's path, stating that their experiences mirrored those of any ordinary newcomer. He recounted how both he and his brother waited outside Mehboob Studio with aspirations like many hopeful artists, asserting there was no special access.

Contender Malti Chahar chimed in, suggesting that individual struggles should not be quantified against each other. Gaurav clarified that while he respected Amaal’s dedication, his remarks were about the disparities in access to first opportunities.

Amaal's Shocking Admission

The dialogue took a dramatic turn when Amaal made a provocative declaration regarding his father.

Amaal stated:

“Mere papa ko kabhi Anu Malik ka support mila hi nahi. Hum reverse nepotism ke product hain. Daboo Malik was a failure, and I have no problem in admitting it.”

This assertion left many astonished within the house and among viewers. Amaal contended that his father lacked support from his brother, and he and Armaan Mallik needed to achieve success autonomously. In response, Gaurav noted that industry connections often facilitate easier networking, such as meeting influential personalities like Salman Khan.

Public Backlash Against Amaal Mallik

Reacting swiftly after the episode's airing, social media users criticized Amaal for publicly deeming his father a “failure” merely to underscore his argument. Many felt he had crossed a line by dishonoring his parent on national television.

Comments ranged from labeling his actions “disrespectful” and “shallow” to alleging emotional manipulation. Some users drew attention to Amaal's conduct on the show, citing numerous past confrontations.

One viewer expressed, “Amaal insulted his own father just to win an argument. That was very disrespectful.”

Another remarked, “Amaal Mallik didn’t feel ashamed, but I felt ashamed hearing that.”

The episode has sparked broader conversations concerning personal boundaries, respect for family, and limits in discussing sensitive topics on reality television.

Amaal Mallik's Career Highlights

Amaal Mallik made his debut in the Hindi film industry in 2014 with Jai Ho. Although it did not create a significant impression, he gained recognition with hits like Roy, Airlift, Ek Paheli Leela, All Is Well, and Hero. Over time, he has established his reputation as a composer renowned for his melodic tracks.

This week also saw an unexpected mid-week eviction on the show, with Mridul Tiwari voted out after obtaining the fewest votes from the live audience. This followed the earlier eliminations of Abhishek Bajaj and Neelam Giri.
