Northern Thailand Prepares for Upcoming Summer Storms

Post by : Shakul

The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society has confirmed that Northern Thailand is set to face summer storms from April 23 to April 25, 2026. This report has been verified by the Thailand Anti-Fake News Center, which called for residents to take necessary precautions during these dates.

Officials anticipate thunderstorms, intense winds, lightning strikes, and potential hail in some locations. The weather front will first impact northern and northeastern areas, subsequently moving into central and eastern Thailand.

According to meteorological specialists, this event is being driven by a high-pressure system or cold air mass migrating from China across the South China Sea into northeastern Thailand. Simultaneously, extremely hot conditions persist in upper Thailand, increasing the likelihood of sudden and severe summer storms.

Residents have been advised to stay vigilant, refrain from outdoor activities during severe weather, and secure their property to mitigate damage from high winds. Those in susceptible regions should monitor official weather reports closely and adhere to safety advisories from local authorities.

In addition to storm warnings, air quality issues are a concern in northern and upper central Thailand, where pollution levels have surpassed acceptable limits due to numerous hotspots. Citizens are recommended to reduce outdoor activities and consider wearing N95 masks when necessary.

The Ministry has also pointed out the increasing issue of fake news circulating on social media. They warned that misinformation can lead to confusion and risk to public safety. Therefore, citizens are urged to verify information with official sources before sharing it online.

Authorities stress that awareness and responsible sharing of information are crucial, especially during weather advisories. Relying on accurate updates can help the public remain safe and avoid unnecessary hazards during this storm period.
