Al Seer Marine (ASM) has reached a remarkable achievement, expanding its Commercial Shipping Division to 18 vessels within a mere three years. This expansion signifies the company’s bold strategy to enhance its role in the global energy transport market.
Collaborating with BGN, an emerging entity in energy and commodities trading, ASM has successfully concluded its dual-fuel Very Large Gas Carrier (VLGC) fleet initiative under the joint venture ABGC DMCC. The recent delivery of the last two vessels, Megrez and Mizar, set for 31st October and 3rd November 2025, respectively, elevates the joint venture to a fleet of five VLGCs. These vessels are designed to improve operational flexibility and efficiency, adeptly meeting both present and future energy transport requirements.
Constructed at Kawasaki Heavy Industries’ Sakaide Shipyard in Japan, Megrez boasts a capacity of 86,925 CBM, while Mizar, produced by Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries in Mokpo, South Korea, has an 88,000 CBM capacity. Both ships will be operated by Fleet Management Limited based in Singapore, upholding global standards of performance and management.
The newly acquired vessels come equipped with dual-fuel capabilities, allowing them to transport ammonia (NH₃) alongside LPG, aligning with the industry's transition towards cleaner fuel sources. This fleet expansion reflects the increasing demand for VLGC and LGC carriers as global energy supply chains evolve due to geopolitical changes and trade interruptions.
With an extensive portfolio that now features LPG carriers, VLGCs, VLCCs, MR tankers, bulk carriers, and product tankers, Al Seer Marine is further solidifying its position as a leader in maritime transport. This expansion not only promotes sustainable revenue growth but also underscores the company’s dedication to efficient and environmentally friendly energy transportation.
This accomplishment positions Al Seer Marine and ABGC DMCC to address the growing requirements for energy transport, while also embracing advanced technologies that set new standards for sustainability and operational excellence within the Middle Eastern shipping industry.
