Al-Falah University has publicly disassociated itself from two practitioners recently apprehended in the Faridabad terror investigation, asserting that the institution has "no ties to these individuals beyond their professional roles." The university criticized reports connecting it to the case as "unfounded and damaging," reaffirming its adherence to lawful and ethical academic conduct.
The Faridabad terror investigation surfaced when authorities uncovered 2,900 kg of ammonium nitrate and other flammable materials at two rented locations associated with Dr. Muzammil Shakeel, a Kashmiri physician working at Al-Falah Medical College. Furthermore, a Krinkov assault rifle along with live ammunition was found in a vehicle linked to Dr. Shaheen, another doctor connected to the institution.
Investigators have identified a "white-collar terror ecosystem" involving radicalized professionals and students who may have ties to international handlers based in Pakistan and other regions. Mohammad Umar, also a staff member at Al-Falah Medical College, is believed to have orchestrated the Red Fort explosion, despite reportedly executing the act alone after his accomplices were taken into custody.
In light of these events, Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Bhupinder Kaur Anand expressed her dismay and condemned the occurrences. She clarified that the detained individuals acted independently and stressed that the university played no role in their actions apart from their academic responsibilities. She also stated that all laboratories and facilities at the campus are exclusively utilized for educational and training needs, adhering to all safety, regulatory, and ethical guidelines.
The institution's statement emphasized that students remain committed to their studies, asserting the importance of maintaining peace and normalcy on campus. Al-Falah University reiterated its pledge to assist investigative bodies, promising to provide full support for a fair and complete inquiry.
Prof. Anand criticized the spread of "unsubstantiated and misleading narratives" online, emphasizing that such reports tarnish the university’s reputation. She also highlighted the university's longstanding history of training medical professionals since 2019, making significant contributions to healthcare both locally and globally.
Concluding, Al-Falah University reaffirmed its dedication to national unity, security, and the ongoing education of its students, calling on the public and media to confirm information prior to disseminating unverified claims.
