During the Qatar Basketball League's 2025–2026 season, Al Ahli achieved a commanding 118-94 win against Al Khor on Monday, showcasing their strength in the ninth round of the competition. The team particularly excelled in the second quarter, creating a significant gap as the game unfolded. Initially, the scores were competitive, but Al Ahli gradually distanced themselves from their opponents.
In a remarkable individual performance, Jesse Jones Jr. from Al Khor led all scorers with 37 points, despite the team's setback. Nigel Armoni Johnson emerged as a key player for Al Ahli, contributing 26 points to help secure the win. This result elevated Al Ahli to sixth place in the league standings with a total of 10 points, whereas Al Khor remained in ninth with 8 points.
In another exciting matchup of the round, Qatar SC defeated Al Gharafa with a scoreline of 111-99, demonstrating effective teamwork and scoring prowess, particularly during the first half. Joshua Morris Nicholas shone for Qatar SC, netting 33 points to steer his team to victory, while Rashad Allen Williams scored 29 points for a determined Al Gharafa. As a result of this game, Qatar SC ascended to eighth place, now holding 9 points, while Al Gharafa sits at seventh with 10 points.
The ninth round will conclude on Saturday, featuring Al Wakrah against Al Arabi and Al Sadd squaring off with Al Rayyan. Notably, Al Shamal will have a bye this round.
