The eagerly awaited sequel, Akhanda 2, featuring Nandamuri Balakrishna, has confirmed a revised release date. Initially announced for December 5, the film's premiere was postponed, disappointing many fans. The production team has now set the new release for December 12, with a special premiere event planned for December 11.
A recent poster release proclaimed, “Prepare for the Divine Destruction at the box office. Experience the MASSive energy of #Akhanda2 in theatres from December 12. Ticket bookings commence soon!”
The unexpected delay, noted last week, caused significant surprise as original premiere plans were set for December 4. The production team expressed their apologies, stating that unexpected challenges necessitated the shift. While no specific details were revealed, sources from the industry indicate that a pending legal issue may have influenced the delay. Eros International Media Limited reportedly sought court intervention regarding an outstanding arbitration sum of ₹28 crore plus interest owed to the film's distributor, with release clearance only granted recently.
Akhanda 2: Thaandavam serves as the continuation of the highly successful 2021 film Akhanda, directed by Boyapati Srinu. Alongside Balakrishna, the cast includes notable performances from Samyuktha, Aadhi Pinishetty, and Harshaali Malhotra. Excitement for the film's soundtrack, composed by Thaman S, is already buzzing among the audience.
With the new date finalized, the anticipation is revitalized for what is expected to be a thrilling mass entertainer at the cinemas, as fans look forward to this action-filled sequel.
