Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan commemorated her late father, Krishnaraj Rai, on his birth anniversary with a poignant tribute shared on social media. The heartfelt post showcased a collection of ‘then and now’ photographs highlighting the enduring bond between Krishnaraj and his granddaughter, Aaradhya Bachchan—a connection Aishwarya holds dear.
One image captured a tender moment from years past, depicting a young Aaradhya kissing her grandfather on the cheek, while Aishwarya smiled beside them. The second photo presented a contemporary scene of the mother and daughter in white attire, bowing their heads in front of Krishnaraj Rai’s portrait. This quiet homage illustrated the lasting impact he has on their lives, even after his passing.
Aishwarya supplemented her images with a heartfelt note, stating, “Happy Birthday dearest Daddy-Ajjaaa. Our Guardian Angel, love you eternally. Thanking you for ALL your infinite love and blessings as our Aaradhya turned 14.” This message underscored the day's dual essence—honoring her father’s memory while celebrating the milestones of his granddaughter.
Krishnaraj Rai left this world in 2017 after battling illness in Mumbai. Aishwarya maintained a strong bond with him, consistently remembering him on his birth and death anniversaries by sharing intimate family moments and reflections filled with gratitude.
Professionally, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan recently starred in Mani Ratnam's 2023 epic, Ponniyin Selvan: Part 2, which achieved significant commercial success by grossing over ₹344 crore worldwide. Her performance received critical acclaim, winning her the Best Actress in a Leading Role (Critics) award at SIIMA, with her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan, praising it as her finest work.
Through her touching tribute, Aishwarya reminds her audience of the profound emotional connection she retains with her father, continually celebrating his memory for her family and particularly for Aaradhya.
