Abhishek Bachchan Commends Agastya Nanda's Role in Ikkis

Post by : Mara Rahim

Abhishek Bachchan has expressed his admiration for nephew Agastya Nanda, who stars in the forthcoming war film Ikkis. Directed by Sriram Raghavan, the movie recounts the valor of Indian Army Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, the youngest recipient of the Param Vir Chakra, who tragically lost his life at just 21 during the 1971 Indo-Pakistan War.

In a behind-the-scenes clip shared on social media, Agastya is seen reflecting on the honor of embodying such a significant historical figure. He stated, “Arun Khetarpal is an iconic personality. I am truly thankful to depict him and unveil his story to viewers.” Abhishek responded on social media, acknowledging Agastya’s commitment as a “great honor and challenge,” extending his best wishes and blessings from both God and audiences.

The film boasts a stellar ensemble, including Dharmendra, Jaideep Ahlawat, Aadyanshi Kapoor, Simar Bhatia, Ekavali Khanna, Shree Bishnoi, Sikandar Kher, and Akashh Alonia. Produced by Maddock Films, Ikkis is slated for a December 25, 2025, release. It aims to celebrate Arun Khetarpal's heroism and the significant events of the 1971 conflict, ensuring his legacy endures for future generations.

In earlier discussions, Agastya mentioned how stepping into the shoes of a soldier imparted critical life lessons about discipline, respect, and decorum. He remarked that even outside the film, embracing the military lifestyle was an enlightening experience, giving him a glimpse into the world of army officers. With high anticipation, fans and family, including Abhishek, look forward to witnessing Agastya’s performance in this eagerly awaited film.
