Aftab Shivdasani, a well-known figure in Hindi cinema since his childhood days, has categorically denied the drug allegations that have surfaced regarding his early career in the industry. At 47, the actor—recognized for his roles in films such as Mr India, Mast, and the Masti series—addressed these claims while advocating for the value of truth over rumors.
In a recent interview, Aftab stated, “The truth doesn’t make noise. The truth is always silent. And the truth doesn’t need to prove itself.” He referred to the rumors as “the funniest” he has come across, emphasizing his choice to concentrate on his work rather than get involved in disputes.
Aftab also reflected on his public persona and the perception of him as someone with alleged attitude problems. Looking back on his extensive career in Bollywood that began with the legendary Mr India in 1987, he acknowledged the industry's unforgiving nature. While recalling instances of criticism and rivalry, he noted that he has consistently worked to maintain a respectable image. “I had numerous adversaries and negative talk surrounding me. Fortunately, I’ve nurtured a reputation where people may not completely like me, but they don’t harbor hatred, since they don’t know me well enough,” he articulated.
Starting his acting journey at just nine years old, Aftab has seen both the highs and lows of Bollywood. His belief in remaining authentic and focusing on his craft has been crucial for navigating the competitive landscape.
Aftab is also set to return in the fourth edition of the adult comedy series, Mastiii 4, under the direction of Milap Zaveri. This new installment will star Vivek Oberoi and Riteish Deshmukh and is expected to uphold the franchise's signature blend of humor and drama.
With a career that spans over 30 years, Aftab Shivdasani remains a respected name in Bollywood, recognized not just for his acting but also for his thoughtful approach to fame, controversy, and integrity.
