Actress Aditi Rao Hydari has raised an alarm among her fans regarding a case of impersonation on WhatsApp. On November 16, she took to Instagram to issue a warning that someone was pretending to be her on the messaging platform. The impersonator has reportedly been using her images to contact photographers, falsely claiming to arrange "photoshoots."
In her message, Aditi stated, “It isn’t me. I don’t reach out like this, and I don’t use any personal number for work. Everything always goes through my team.” She even shared the WhatsApp number utilized by the impersonator, encouraging fans to be vigilant. She added, “Please be careful and don't engage with that number. If you come across anything odd, just let my team know. Thank you to all those who have my back and are so protective and kind.”
Fans and other celebrities reacted to the news, with comedian and influencer Kusha Kapila making a light-hearted comment about the impersonator, noting that they failed to replicate Aditi’s unique style or use her Instagram profile picture authentically.
While the WhatsApp incident raised minor concerns for Aditi, she has recently spent a joyful weekend participating in animal welfare activities. Last month, she shared delightful moments on Instagram playing with rescued dogs, celebrating the efforts of organizations and individuals devoted to looking after stray and abandoned animals. She remarked, “Sundays are for cuddles and squishes. More power to these incredibly inspiring humans for rescuing and looking after these furry babies. Tight slaps to evil humans who abandon them, torture them and behave like demons.”
Aditi tagged organizations such as The Pet Café Hyderabad and Devens Hope Society in her posts, expressing gratitude towards both the staff and the dogs, whom she affectionately called Malli Poo and Mumsie Pie.
On the professional front, Aditi Rao Hydari was last seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s series Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, further cementing her status in critically acclaimed projects.
As cases of social media impersonation become more frequent, the actress’ warning serves as an important reminder for fans to verify any communications claiming to represent celebrities and to promptly report suspicious activity.
