‘120 Bahadur’ Marks First Film Screening in Defence Cinemas

Post by : Mina Rahman

Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios are gearing up for a landmark launch of their war drama, 120 Bahadur, which will be showcased in defence theatres across India. This film sets a precedent as the first Indian production to engage this audience through PictureTime’s expanding mobile cinema network, with its global release scheduled for November 21.

In collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, PictureTime has arranged screenings in more than 800 defence cinema halls nationwide. These facilities serve primarily military personnel and their families, particularly those in remote areas where mainstream cinemas are scarce. The initiative is aimed at directly reaching the armed forces community.

Sushil Chaudhary, the Founder and CEO of PictureTime, highlighted the initiative’s objective to cater to a large yet underrepresented audience. He pointed out that while India has 1.5 million active duty soldiers, along with numerous veterans and family members, access to defence theatres remains limited. He emphasized the significance of launching this broader network with 120 Bahadur due to the film’s emotional ties to the troops.

Vishal Ramchandani, CEO of Excel Entertainment, expressed appreciation for the opportunity to honor those it seeks to represent even before its public premiere. He mentioned the privilege of having soldiers and their families as initial viewers and recognized PictureTime's role in facilitating this extensive outreach.

120 Bahadur draws inspiration from the Battle of Rezang La, a pivotal chapter in India’s military history. The film features notable talents such as Farhan Akhtar, Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, and others, alongside senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan in significant roles.

Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai and produced by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, the film is set to premiere in cinemas on November 21.
