Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a significant move under the leadership of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi's Ruler Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has endorsed a substantial housing aid program totaling AED 1.54 billion for local citizens.

This initiative is poised to assist 1,074 Emiratis throughout the emirate.

The program encompasses AED 1.41 billion in housing loans that will directly benefit 929 Emiratis. Additionally, it offers AED 123 million in loan repayment exemptions, aiding 145 senior citizens, low-income retirees, and families of deceased citizens.

Announced just before Eid Al Adha, this package underscores the leadership's dedication to fostering family stability, social welfare, and providing adequate housing options for citizens.

HE Mohamed Ali Al Shorafa, Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, stated that the initiative reinforces the leadership’s unwavering focus on prioritizing the needs of its citizens. He emphasized that it promotes social stability and ensures dignified living conditions for Emirati families.

HE Hamad Hareb Al Muhairi, Director-General of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, noted that the program enhances family well-being while contributing to the UAE's broader development objectives. He further assured that the authority will persist in refining housing services for greater accessibility and efficiency.

With the recent approval, the total housing benefits allocated in Abu Dhabi for 2026 escalates to AED 5.76 billion. Since the inception of the Abu Dhabi Housing Authority, over 133,000 housing aids have been provided, amassing more than AED 182 billion.

This package illustrates the persistent commitment of UAE leadership to furnish stable housing solutions and elevate the quality of life for residents throughout Abu Dhabi.
