Tran Cam Tu, a prominent member of Vietnam's Politburo and Permanent Member of the Secretariat, led a pivotal session in Hanoi focusing on the assessment of inspection and oversight operations undertaken in the initial five months of 2026. This assembly included senior Party officials, central agency reps, and members from the Central Inspection Committee.
During the meeting, they examined the progress in reinforcing Party discipline, optimizing supervisory mechanisms, and facilitating the groundwork for the upcoming 14th National Party Congress as well as the election of deputies for the 16th National Assembly and the People's Councils for the term 2026–2031. The Committee also reported its active role in developing new regulations to fortify inspection and disciplinary measures within the Party.
As indicated in the report, substantial strides have been made towards modernizing oversight frameworks and enhancing inspection efficacy. Since the start of this year, the Committee has provided guidance to Party leadership on crucial regulatory documents while collaborating with law enforcement to reinforce oversight and accountability. They've also integrated digital platforms like the VNeID app to gather public input and detect early signs of potential violations.
The leadership recognized the committee's proactive stance in executing inspection programs nationwide. More than twenty new teams were established to further examine Party organizations directly affiliated with the Central Committee. Various disciplinary measures were enacted against Party members breaching regulations, showcasing an unwavering dedication to accountability and maintaining organizational integrity.
During the meeting, Tran Cam Tu highlighted the complexities faced in Party reform and emphasized the necessity for robust and proactive supervision. He advocated for inspections to be conducted promptly, decisively, and transparently to guarantee the effective implementation of Party resolutions and directives across governmental levels.
He urged for heightened attention on vulnerable sectors prone to infractions, such as corruption, waste, abuse of authority, and conflicts of interest. Additionally, he underscored the pressing need to enforce recently established regulations concerning political and ideological activities within the Party, while also reinforcing oversight of local governance, major investment initiatives, economic growth programs, and national strategic projects.
Looking onward, the Central Inspection Committee was tasked with expediting digital transformation efforts, bolstering coordination with Party-building entities, and enhancing information security. There will be special emphasis on training grassroots inspection officials across commune and ward levels, ensuring they have the professional capabilities and integrity to address the evolving requirements of Party governance and oversight reforms in Vietnam.
