Traffic Control Measures Announced for A.R. Rahman Concert at IGI Stadium

Post by : Mara Rahim

In light of A R Rahman’s concert titled “Harmony of Hearts” taking place at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi, traffic control measures will be in effect. Scheduled from 6 pm to 10 pm on Saturday evening, the event will prompt adjustments to traffic in adjacent areas for public safety and managing crowds, as stated by the Delhi Traffic Police.

Key roads such as IP Marg, Vikas Marg, and the Ring Road segment between Rajghat and IP Depot are likely to experience significant congestion. Should the need arise, traffic on IP Marg and Vikas Marg will be redirected, and heavy vehicles will be barred from proceeding towards IP Marg from Rajghat throughout the event duration. Commuters are encouraged to avoid these roads from 12 noon to 11 pm on December 20 to minimize disruptions.

Additionally, parking regulations are outlined for the event. Limited parking will only be available for vehicles with official parking passes in close proximity to the stadium. It is imperative for vehicles to display the parking pass prominently on the windshield, which must include the vehicle registration number. Unauthorized vehicles will be denied entry near the venue. Parking pass holders are instructed to approach the parking areas via MGM Road from the Ring Road.

No parking will be permitted along either side of the Ring Road from Rajghat to the IP flyover throughout the event. Any vehicles found violating these regulations may be towed, with possible legal ramifications.

For access to the stadium, attendees can use gates 7 and 8 from Velodrome Road while gates 21, 22, and 23 will be accessible from MGM Road along Ring Road. Gates 16 and 18 will also facilitate entry from MGM Road. Travelers are advised to plan their journeys ahead of time.
