Thailand Enhances Career Support Clinics for Job Seekers

Post by : Shakul

The Department of Employment in Thailand is enhancing its initiative for Career Clinics, aimed at helping unemployed individuals, fresh graduates, and workers facing job difficulties adapt to a rapidly changing labor market. This program is tailored to provide personalized guidance and employment support in light of the ongoing economic shifts and advancements in technology.

Somchai Morakotsriwan, the Director-General of the Department of Employment, highlighted that evolving economic conditions and technological progress have drastically altered the job landscape. While certain long-established jobs are disappearing, new avenues are opening up, requiring an ongoing adaptation of skills to stay relevant.

The Career Clinics offer tailored counseling services, facilitating individuals to explore ideal career paths aligned with their skills, interests, personality, and professional aspirations. This initiative aids those looking for new job opportunities, transitioning careers, or addressing workplace issues.

A standout aspect of the program involves a team of professional career counselors trained in psychology. These experts conduct aptitude assessments, provide career planning advice, assist in job preparation, and suggest skill development opportunities that meet current market needs. They also offer guidance on self-employment and starting new ventures.

With 28 service centers established throughout Thailand, the Department has deployed 38 career counselors and specialized personnel to maximize public access. Besides in-office consultations, outreach efforts are being undertaken to connect with communities and individuals likely facing obstacles in accessing employment services.

During the first seven months of the 2026 fiscal period, the initiative has already shown promising results. From October 2025 to April 2026, over 14,000 individuals accessed support through the Career Clinics, resulting in 7,749 people gaining employment, which is projected to create an annual income exceeding 67.5 million baht.

Officials affirm that this program illustrates the government’s dedication to bolstering workforce resilience and assisting citizens amid economic transformations. As labor markets evolve, the significance of the Career Clinics is expected to rise, playing a pivotal role in aiding workers in cultivating sustainable careers, enhancing financial stability, and improving their overall quality of life.
