Old Comments of Tanya Mittal Resurface After Ektaa Kapoor's TV Invitation

Post by : Mina Rahman

Renowned filmmaker Ektaa Kapoor, known for integrating Bigg Boss contenders into her shows, recently approached Tanya Mittal and music director Amaal Mallik during a visit to the Bigg Boss 19 set. This offer coincided with a resurgence of interest in an older Reddit discussion where Tanya expressed her preference for collaborating with emerging talents rather than established stars.

In a podcast from February, Tanya revealed her existing commitments to film and music projects but emphasized her desire to support a range of creators rather than focus solely on personal fame. “Pursuing films purely for celebrity status would lead to self-absorption,” she stated.

When questioned about her ideal directors, Tanya mentioned, “People often chase big names like Karan Johar and Sanjay Leela Bhansali. I aspire to collaborate with lesser-known directors who possess talent but lack the big actresses. I'm willing to work pro bono to assist them.” She reiterated, “I aim to elevate talented newcomers rather than seek fame. Success and recognition are not my primary objectives.”

Reactions on Reddit were varied. Some users humorously speculated whether Tanya would decline Ektaa's offer in pursuit of fame. Others criticized her as hypocritical, highlighting her disappointment over her Instagram following of only 3.7 million.

During this Weekend Ka Vaar, Ektaa Kapoor expressed her interest in casting both Amaal Mallik and Tanya Mittal, prompting a joyful response from Tanya, who described it as a “dream come true.” Salman Khan ribbed her about portraying a less fortunate character, but Tanya joyfully celebrated her opportunity.

This week also saw the eviction of Kunickaa Sadanand, with just two weeks remaining in the competition. Contestants Malti Chahar, Shehbaz Badesha, Amaal Mallik, Gaurav Khanna, Pranit More, Tanya Mittal, and Farrhana Bhatt are intensifying their efforts to clinch the title.
