The famous Taj Mahal will soon have better security with a new high-tech anti-drone system. This system is designed to stop any drones flying close to the monument, making sure the Taj Mahal stays safe from any possible aerial threats.
Right now, the Taj Mahal is protected by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and the Uttar Pradesh Police. But now, they will add another layer of security with this new drone-fighting technology.
Syed Arib Ahmad, the Assistant Commissioner of Police in charge of Taj Mahal security, explained how the system will work. He said the anti-drone system can cover a range of 7 to 8 kilometers. However, it will mainly work within 200 meters of the main dome of the Taj Mahal. When a drone comes near, the system will automatically block its signal. This will stop the drone from working, which is called a “soft kill.” So, the drone won’t be able to fly or take pictures near the monument.
This decision comes after recent actions by India, where special raids took place on May 7 under Operation Sindoor. These raids targeted nine terror bases in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. These actions were in response to a brutal attack called the Pahalgam carnage.
The new anti-drone system will help protect the Taj Mahal better and stop any dangerous drones from getting too close. This will keep the monument safe and secure for visitors and the country.
