Dubai: A young Syrian girl named Yaqeen Ebrahim, who is battling a rare illness called spinal muscular atrophy, is now getting a chance at life thanks to a generous act of kindness.

Her family had been struggling to find help as the treatment for her condition costs more than Dh7 million. In a video that was posted online, Yaqeen's uncle begged for assistance in saving her life. He said in the video that only a select few locations, such as Dubai's Al Jalila Hospital, offer the particular treatment.

The ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, took action after watching the video. Ebrahim Kanakar, Yaqeen's father, was contacted by his team to inform him that Sheikh Mohammed will cover the entire cost of her medical treatment.

Yaqeen and her family now have fresh hope for a healthy future because of your thoughtful act.
