The official Qatari Hajj Mission is set to return to its home base on Monday after achieving a highly organized and efficient pilgrimage season in 2026.
This year's Hajj was distinguished by meticulous planning, robust coordination, and joint efforts across multiple governmental departments, allowing Qatari pilgrims to fulfill their religious obligations in a secure, serene, and comfortable atmosphere from departure until their return.
Members of the mission will return following the safe arrival of all Qatari pilgrims back in the country after completing their rituals. This successful pilgrimage underlines Qatar's dedication to high-quality services and comprehensive support for its pilgrims throughout their spiritual journey.
Remarkable Organizational Success
Ali bin Sultan Al Misifri, the Director of the Department of Hajj and Umrah Affairs, hailed this operation as one of the most successful Hajj endeavors conducted by Qatar. The high level of organization and the quality of services provided were key indicators of its success.
Pilgrims returned without incidents, thanks to scheduled flights by Qatar Airways and Saudi Airlines, allowing for smooth homecomings following their ritual observances.
Al Misifri emphasized that the success stemmed from collaboration among various governmental bodies, all of which operated under a comprehensive operational framework.
Collaborative Efforts of Government Entities
The Qatari Hajj Mission comprised representatives from several government organs, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Public Health, and the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs.
This collaborative effort ensured that all necessary services were efficiently provided, and every aspect of the pilgrimage was meticulously managed, enhancing the overall experience for all pilgrims involved.
During this season, specialized units operated around the clock, including:
Coordination and Follow-up Unit
Airport Unit
Communication and Support Unit
Medical Unit
Holy Sites Services Unit
Surveillance and Inspection Unit
Sharia Guidance Unit
Other supporting operational teams
These units played a pivotal role in offering transportation, healthcare, religious guidance, logistical assistance, and field monitoring services.
Comfortable Accommodations at Holy Sites
Al Misifri pointed out the extensive preparations made prior to the Hajj season, noting that early planning by the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs was crucial for ensuring an effortless pilgrimage experience.
The mission managed the setup of pilgrim camps and tents in Mina, Arafat, and Muzdalifah, working alongside Makkah Catering Company, a leader in Hajj camp management.
These accommodations were designed to meet modern standards, creating a safe and comfortable atmosphere that allowed pilgrimage operators to focus entirely on fulfilling the needs of their pilgrims.
Seamless Collaboration with Saudi Authorities
A significant factor contributing to this year’s success was the ongoing cooperation between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Al Misifri acknowledged that coordinated efforts with Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and its security and service agencies facilitated smooth movements between the holy sites.
This coordination included transportation during the Day of Tarwiyah, travel to Arafat, transitions to Muzdalifah, and the return to Mina for the stoning rituals.
He remarked that this collaboration reflected the robust brotherly ties between Qatar and Saudi Arabia and their joint commitment to serving pilgrims effectively.
Key Contributions from Hajj Campaign Operators
Al Misifri also acknowledged the instrumental role of the 18 licensed Qatari Hajj campaign operators. Their dedication to operational planning, safety protocols, and transportation schedules greatly contributed to the season's overall success.
The effective partnership fostered between the mission and the campaign operators facilitated a well-structured pilgrimage experience and ensured the provision of quality services throughout the journey.
Preparations Already Underway for the Next Hajj
Despite the remarkable achievements of this year's Hajj, the mission will quickly begin assessing the season and preparing for the next pilgrimage.
Officials will collect feedback from pilgrims and campaign operators to pinpoint potential improvements, aiming to enhance operational plans while upholding the highest service standards in the upcoming Hajj seasons.
Recognition of Saudi Arabia's Contributions
Al Misifri expressed gratitude towards Saudi Arabia for its relentless efforts in supporting millions of pilgrims and enhancing the Hajj system. He specifically commended the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah and the Kingdom's security and service departments for their support and collaboration.
He emphasized that the ongoing partnership between Qatari and Saudi authorities was essential for ensuring the safety, smooth operation, and comfort of Qatar’s pilgrims.
Leadership's Support as a Key Factor
Al Misifri noted that the successes achieved during the 2026 Hajj season were largely due to the guidance and backing of Qatar's leadership, which is fully committed to delivering comprehensive care and services for their pilgrims.
He acknowledged the diligence of the Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs and the Head of the Qatari Hajj Mission, who meticulously oversaw preparations, camp logistics, and support services throughout the pilgrimage.
As the official mission concludes its journey home, it marks the end of an exceptional Hajj season characterized by effective organization, teamwork, and successful on-ground operations. The paramount achievement remains the safe return of all Qatari pilgrims after accomplishing their sacred rituals.
