The Vatican is set to unveil Pope Leo XIV’s inaugural encyclical, a crucial document expected to explore the ethical landscape of artificial intelligence amid the rapid evolution of technology. Pope Leo XIV draws parallels between the moral and social dilemmas introduced by AI and those experienced during the Industrial Revolution over a century ago.

Church leaders indicate that the encyclical will frame AI discourse within the larger context of Catholic social doctrine, targeting issues of labor rights, justice, economic equity, and human accountability.
