Following the reveal of the OnePlus 15, the tech giant prepares to launch the OnePlus 15R in India. The official product page is now accessible on OnePlus’ website, confirming the device will run on Android 16 with OxygenOS 16 out of the box. Reports suggest that the 15R may be a rebranded version of the recently unveiled OnePlus Ace 6 in China.
Design and Display
Expected to feature a generous 6.83-inch LTPS AMOLED display displaying at FHD+ resolution (2800×1272 pixels) with a peak brightness of 1800 nits, the OnePlus 15R promises vibrant visuals complemented by a refresh rate of up to 165Hz in select instances. It appears that the traditional alert slider has been replaced by the customizable Plus Key that debuted with the OnePlus 13 series.
Performance and Storage
Under the hood, the OnePlus 15R is anticipated to be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, integrated with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Users will have various storage options, likely including 256GB, 512GB, and even a substantial 1TB UFS 4.1 variant, providing ample space for all applications, games, and media files.
Cameras
Photography lovers can expect a 50MP wide-angle rear camera with OIS along with an 8MP ultra-wide lens. For selfies and video communication, a 16MP front camera is anticipated. However, the omission of a telephoto lens compared to its predecessor raises questions, as does the potential replacement of Hasselblad's image tuning with the new DetailMax Engine in this model.
Battery and Charging
The upcoming OnePlus 15R is expected to incorporate a robust 7,800mAh battery supporting 120W wired charging. As with previous models in the R-series, wireless charging may not be a feature.
With its top-tier features including a 165Hz AMOLED display, Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, anda large battery, the OnePlus 15R seems strategically positioned to attract consumers desiring flagship-level performance at a more accessible price. Its sleek design and the innovative Plus Key are expected to resonate well with OnePlus enthusiasts who value both aesthetics and functionality.
