Dubai Strengthens Trade Relations with Cyprus Through New Council

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

In a decisive move to bolster international trade relations, Dubai has inaugurated the Cyprus Business Council under the auspices of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. This council is intended as a specialized forum aimed at fostering trade, investment, and collaboration across various sectors between businesses in Dubai and Cyprus.

This initiative coincides with a notable increase in economic interactions between the two markets. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Cyprus reached AED588 million, a testament to the burgeoning commercial activity and investor engagement. By the end of Q3 2025, a total of 612 Cypriot enterprises had joined the Dubai Chamber, including 71 that signed up within the first nine months of the year.

The council recently held its first Annual General Meeting in Dubai, gathering high-ranking officials and stakeholders from both nations. This gathering underscored a common ambition to broaden business horizons, facilitate market entry, and pave the way for tech-driven and sustainable initiatives.

The Cyprus Business Council aims to assist enterprises in forming lasting connections, discovering investment prospects, and adapting to Dubai’s vibrant market environment. Its formation further solidifies Dubai's role as a favored destination for global firms aiming to expand regionally and beyond.

Working under the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, these business councils are vital conduits linking the emirate with international markets. They advocate for investors from specific nations, addressing their needs, and collaborate closely with the chamber to enhance bilateral economic initiatives. The establishment of the Cyprus Business Council signifies a renewed commitment to fostering Dubai’s reputation as a preeminent international business center.
