The fourth stage of the Giro d’Italia was marked by a triumphant performance from UAE Team Emirates-XRG, with Ecuador's Jhonatan Narváez seizing victory in a challenging 138km stretch between Catanzaro and Cosenza.

In the final couple of kilometers, the intensity escalated as teammate Jan Christen executed a strategic attack, pushing the main riders into a defensive stance and paving the way for Narváez to strike in the sprint finish.

Narváez showcased a compelling burst of speed, finishing first ahead of Movistar Team's Orluis Aular in second, while Giulio Ciccone from Lidl-Trek took third.

This victory serves as a remarkable comeback for Narváez, who was competing for the first time after suffering severe fractures to his vertebrae during the Tour Down Under in January. Despite having faced significant challenges earlier this season, the Ecuadorian has returned in stellar form, achieving a vital win for his team.

Christen also had a stellar outing, finishing with the leaders and moving up to second in the overall standings, just four seconds off the pace of the race leader. The talented Swiss rider rose to the top of the young rider category, proudly donned in the coveted white jersey.

With this dynamic display in Stage 4, UAE Team Emirates-XRG heads confidently into the next leg of the Giro d’Italia, riding the wave of successful momentum.
