Egypt secured their place in the 2026 FIFA World Cup with a convincing 3-0 win over Djibouti on Wednesday, with one qualifier match still remaining. Mohamed Salah was the star of the match, scoring twice to seal the victory for the Pharaohs.
The scoring began in Casablanca when Zizo delivered a precise cross that Ibrahim Adel headed into the net. Salah then doubled Egypt’s lead by finishing a perfect through ball and added a late volley to complete the 3-0 triumph, according to FIFA reports.
Ghana also moved closer to World Cup qualification after a strong win in El Jadida. Players including Mohammed Salisu, Thomas Partey, Alexander Djiku, Jordan Ayew, and Kamaldeen Sulemana contributed to a commanding team performance, putting Ghana in a strong position in their group.
Meanwhile, Cabo Verde drew 3-3 with Libya but remain top of their group, while Cameroon continue to fight for qualification. Teams such as Angola, Comoros, Guinea-Bissau, Mali, and Sierra Leone have been eliminated from the qualifiers.
With both Egypt and Ghana now preparing for their final group-stage matches, fans in the Middle East and around the world eagerly await to see how these teams will finalize their spots at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Salah’s brilliance has once again put Egypt on the global football map, inspiring millions of supporters across the region.
