Malaysian wrestling star Miles Karu is gearing up for a monumental adventure as he sets off for Japan on a three-month tour with the esteemed DDT Pro-Wrestling. Known in the ring as “The Lyrical Lightning,” he will not only be showcasing his talent but also amplifying the presence of Southeast Asian wrestling on the global stage. This tour stands as a vital breakthrough for Malaysian professional wrestling, emphasizing the increasing appreciation for regional wrestlers by international organizations.

Since breaking into the spotlight in 2019, Miles Karu has been on a steady ascent in professional wrestling. His years of dedication and regional appearances across countries like Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, and the Philippines have solidified his status as a prominent figure in Malaysian wrestling. His perseverance and achievements have won him respect within wrestling circles, paving the way for international prospects.

A pivotal moment for Miles came in 2024 when he and teammate The Wonderboy made history as the first Malaysians to clinch the SPW Southeast Asia Tag Team Championships. Most recently, he secured the Southeast Asia Championship title by overcoming Shivam at the New Breed 4 event, making him one of the top contenders in the region and ready for his next leap into the international arena.

Reflecting on his imminent tour, Miles shared that wrestling in Japan has long been a cherished dream due to his admiration for its wrestling heritage. Initially, he envisioned this moment as achievable, yet it seemed to drift away over time. Now that the tour is assured, he expresses his thrilling anticipation to represent Southeast Asian wrestling and introduce the Southeast Asia Championship to Japanese fans.

During his time in Japan, Miles will base himself in Tokyo, competing from mid-May through mid-August. His inaugural match is slated for May 16 at Radiant Hall in Yokohama during the NihaoDramatic Dream Tournament 2026, where he will form a six-man tag team alongside Yukio Naya and Seiki Inaba, facing off against Kazuma Sumi, Daichi Sato, and Akito. With a watchful eye from fans across the region, Miles’s tour marks a rare instance for a Malaysian wrestler to gain traction in one of the world's most esteemed wrestling environments.

Miles disclosed several renowned Japanese wrestlers he looks forward to encountering during this tour, including Chris Brookes, Kazuki Hirata, MAO, Takeshi Masada, and the legendary Minoru Suzuki. His aspiration is that Japanese spectators appreciate his wrestling style and gain familiarity with Malaysian wrestling and the broader Southeast Asian wrestling community. For him, this tour symbolizes not merely personal achievement but a step towards enhancing the international visibility of regional wrestling.

Furthermore, Miles encourages aspiring wrestlers to focus on honing their craft, irrespective of their success levels. He underlines the significance of discipline, relentless effort, and the enrichment of experience that wrestling in diverse contexts brings. He credits his interactions with talented wrestlers from around the globe to have profoundly influenced his journey, motivating him to keep striving for excellence. His upcoming adventure in Japan is a celebratory chapter for Malaysia’s wrestling community, signifying the growing international recognition of Southeast Asian talent.
