Michelle Jenneke, the Australian track athlete who gained international fame during the 2012 World Championships with her viral warm-up routine, has revealed her engagement. She took to Instagram to share the joyous news, mentioning her eight-and-a-half-year relationship that remained largely private until now, only known to close friends and family.
Jenneke is set to wed Alex Beck, another Olympic athlete from Australia. The couple has managed to keep their relationship mostly out of the public eye, primarily showcasing their athletic journey on social media. In the images shared, both athletes appear radiant, with Jenneke proudly displaying her engagement ring.
Michelle represented Australia at the 2016 Rio Games and is also slated to compete in the 2024 Paris Games in the 100-meter hurdles. Despite not progressing past the heats in both Olympics, her vibrant personality and substantial following keep her a beloved figure in the athletics community.
Alex Beck participated in the Tokyo Olympics in 2021, competing in the men’s 400 meters. Both have achieved significant accolades in their sporting careers, with Jenneke enjoying success in youth competitions and Beck claiming medals at the Oceania Championships in 2024. Fans have warmly embraced this announcement, celebrating a cherished moment for two prominent figures in Australian sports.
