Temporary Suspension of Madinah Bus Services for Hajj Preparations

Temporary Suspension of Madinah Bus Services for Hajj Preparations

Post by : Bianca Suleiman

The Al Madinah Region Development Authority has announced that the Madinah Buses project will temporarily stop its public transportation services starting from noon on the 9th of Dhu Al Hijjah 1447 AH in preparation for the Hajj season.

As reported by the Saudi Press Agency, regular bus services in Madinah will restart on the morning of the second day of Eid Al Adha.

This temporary halt is part of a sanctioned operational strategy aimed at enhancing traffic management, alleviating congestion, and boosting logistical performance during the Hajj peak when millions of pilgrims transit between the holy cities.

Officials have indicated that this initiative is intended to aid crowd control measures and to ensure that transportation in Madinah runs more smoothly throughout the height of the pilgrimage.

While public transport routes are suspended, specialized shuttle services to the Prophet’s Mosque and Quba Mosque will remain operational to assist pilgrims and visitors in reaching these revered locations.

Residents and guests are encouraged to keep an eye on official social media platforms and transport updates for the latest information regarding service changes and schedules throughout the Hajj period.
