London witnessed one of the largest far-right protests in recent history on Sunday, September 14, 2025. The protest, led by anti-immigration activist Tommy Robinson, drew an estimated 150,000 people. The massive gathering quickly turned violent, resulting in multiple arrests and injuries to police officers.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that 24 people had been arrested so far. Earlier reports had mistakenly included duplicate entries, reducing the number from 26. Among those arrested, 21 were men and three were women, ranging in age from 19 to 58. Officers said the suspects are accused of crimes including assault, damaging property, attacking emergency workers, and carrying offensive weapons. Some were arrested for more than one offense.

Police reported that 26 officers were injured while trying to control the crowds. Four of them suffered serious injuries. The violence erupted when some protest attendees tried to enter restricted areas near a nearby counter-protest organized by an anti-racism group. Protesters reportedly attacked police with kicks and punches while throwing bottles, flares, and other objects.

The rally began with a march across Westminster Bridge, and later, attendees gathered near Downing Street. Several far-right figures from Europe and North America spoke at the event, and billionaire Elon Musk addressed the crowd through a video link. In his speech, he called for the dissolution of Britain’s parliament and warned that violence was coming, saying people must “fight back or die.”

The anti-racism organization, Hope Not Hate, described the rally as unprecedented. They said the event included speeches promoting extreme anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim ideas. Some speakers called for banning public expression of non-Christian religions and demanded the “remigration” of legal migrants. They also claimed Britain’s population was being “replaced” by outsiders. The charity warned that such large gatherings cheering extreme ideas could be a sign of troubling times ahead.

The police stated that investigations are ongoing. They aim to identify more individuals involved in the disorder and expect additional arrests in the coming days and weeks. Authorities have warned that law enforcement will continue to monitor far-right activities closely to prevent further violence.

The rally highlighted rising tensions in Britain over immigration and political extremism. While some attendees expressed nationalist views, many Londoners and advocacy groups condemned the rhetoric and violence, urging for peace and respect for the rule of law. The city remains on high alert as authorities continue their investigation into the event and the actions of those involved.
