Lenovo Group has announced a remarkable revenue growth for the second quarter, propelled by the widespread adoption of Windows 11 and an increasing requirement for AI-driven servers.
For the quarter ending September 30, Lenovo registered a 15% year-on-year revenue increase, reaching $20.45 billion, slightly surpassing the market's $20 billion expectations. However, net profit fell 5% to $340 million, below analysts' predictions of $382 million.
The adjusted net profit, excluding non-operational and non-cash items, presented a more optimistic outlook, soaring by 25% to $512 million, underscoring the company’s solid profitability amidst evolving market conditions.
The intelligent devices segment, which includes PCs, tablets, and smartphones, significantly contributed to this revenue growth, reflecting a 15% increase in the first half of the year. The global PC landscape is thriving, largely due to the transition to Windows 11 and a surge in demand for high-performance machines.
According to IDC statistics, PC shipments during the September period rose 17% to 19.4 million units, securing Lenovo a 25.5% share of the global market, thus reinforcing its status as the leading PC manufacturer worldwide.
