Five Venomous Snakes Discovered in Kozhikode Residence

Post by : Shakul

In a startling event in Kozhikode, five venomous snakes were uncovered within a family home, inciting widespread fear in the community. This unsettling incident took place in Mundakkutty, close to Kuttiyadi, highlighting urgent safety concerns.

The snakes were confirmed to be common kraits, infamous for their potent venom and considered among India's deadliest serpents. The finding of several kraits in one household is both remarkable and alarming.

The initial snake was discovered resting beneath a pillow in a room occupied by a local family. The scenario escalated when it was revealed that two young children—aged one and eight—often slept in that same room, heightening the sense of danger.

Following this unsettling revelation, another snake was located in the bathroom, with three additional serpents found scattered throughout the house. Overall, five deadly snakes were identified in the residence, causing distress for the six occupants, including elderly members.

As news spread, local residents congregated around the home, prompting wildlife rescue teams to intervene and safely extract the snakes. Officials suspect that the snakes entered in search of shelter or food, likely due to nearby foliage or shifts in weather.

Experts are urging vigilance, particularly after sunset, as common kraits are notably nocturnal. Residents are advised to maintain cleanliness around their homes, thoroughly inspect their environments, and secure doors and windows.

This alarming discovery has stirred local sentiments, with many calling for improved awareness and proactive measures to prevent future incidents. Authorities are set to carry out inspections to reinforce safety for community members.
