Kevin Spacey is preparing for new civil legal challenges in London next year, stemming from sexual assault allegations he faces, following his earlier acquittal of criminal charges.
Three men have accused the 66-year-old actor of incidents that allegedly took place between 2000 and 2013 during his tenure as artistic director at the Old Vic theatre. A judge has tentatively set the trial date for October 12, 2026, but it remains uncertain whether the cases will be consolidated or tried separately.
Spacey has firmly denied all claims against him. Two of the complainants were part of Spacey’s previous criminal trial, which concluded with an acquittal. One individual alleges assaults occurred multiple times between 2000 and 2005, another cites psychological and financial repercussions from an alleged incident in 2008, while actor Ruari Cannon claims he was assaulted at a theatre event in 2013. Cannon has also filed a lawsuit against the Old Vic theatre.
Recently, Spacey discussed the financial strain caused by his legal troubles, revealing he has been residing in temporary accommodations while still working. He clarified that he does not consider himself homeless in the typical sense and expressed gratitude for the support extended to him, as well as for those facing true hardships.
