A devastating event in Ampang has cast a shadow over the community, following the death of a nine-year-old boy who fell from the 13th floor of an apartment in Taman Cahaya. Authorities are actively investigating the incident to ascertain the details and explore any possible negligence.

Police reported receiving a call around 7:45 p.m. when a woman found the child unconscious near the apartment complex. Emergency services rushed to the scene, but medical personnel later confirmed his death.

Initial investigations suggest that the boy may have been alone in the apartment when the accident occurred. Authorities are focused on uncovering how the fall transpired and if necessary safety precautions were in place or overlooked.

This tragic incident has reignited discussions about child safety in tall residential buildings, particularly regarding the supervision of children and access to hazards like balconies and windows. Authorities plan to thoroughly assess all contributing factors as the investigation progresses.

So far, police have recorded testimonies from five individuals, including family members and witnesses, to gain insight into the events leading up to this harrowing incident. Investigators aim to collect all pertinent evidence to understand the circumstances fully.

The boy’s remains have been sent to Ampang Hospital for a post-mortem examination that will aim to establish the cause of death. Authorities have stated that the medical findings will significantly influence the ongoing investigation.

The inquiry is being conducted under the Child Act 2001, which pertains to the protection and welfare of minors. Officials are advising parents and caregivers to exercise increased caution to ensure the safety of children, especially in high-rise living conditions where risks are heightened.
