Dubai recently welcomed a football legend, Iker Casillas, as he helped introduce one of the world’s biggest and most advanced televisions. Casillas, who is best known for being the former goalkeeper of Real Madrid and the Spanish national team, was in Dubai to launch a brand-new 116-inch Hisense TV at the Hisense Arena, located inside the Mall of the Emirates.
This new TV isn’t just large—it’s also packed with the latest features that make the viewing experience feel almost real. The TV uses RGB MiniLED technology, which means it can show deeper blacks, brighter colours, and more accurate pictures. The RGB part stands for red, green, and blue—the three main colours that TVs use to show all the colours we see. With this system, each colour is managed in a more detailed way, making movies and sports look even better.
Casillas spoke at the launch event, saying that watching football on a high-quality screen like this one can feel almost like being in the stadium. He said he was happy to support Hisense because they are making technology that brings fans closer to the game.
Jason Ou, President of Hisense Middle East and Africa, shared that the company is proud to have Casillas at the launch. He added that Hisense has always believed in combining technology with sports, which is why they continue to support football events and work with famous athletes.
The new Hisense TV also has a smart system that makes it more energy efficient and provides very clear and sharp images. It is designed for people who want a full home-theatre experience. Experts say that Hisense is currently leading the market for TVs over 100 inches, with more than half of the global share.
Before the event, Casillas was taken on a tour of Hisense’s Research and Development Centre in Dubai. There, he saw how the company is working on future technologies, including smart home products and better displays. This shows Hisense’s focus on innovation, especially in the UAE, which is quickly becoming a hub for both sports and tech.
This launch was also part of a 10-day Hisense celebration connected to the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup, where Hisense is an official sponsor. The event at the mall included football-themed games, large screens for watching matches, and fun activities for fans of all ages.
Casillas is not just visiting Dubai for this launch. He is also involved with a goalkeeping academy in the city, where he helps train young players. His visit reflects a growing connection between Dubai, football, and modern technology.
