Hollywood is grieving the loss of Diane Keaton, the iconic American actress, who passed away at the age of 79. Known for her unique style and unforgettable performances, Keaton appeared in more than 60 films during her long and successful career.

Keaton gained international fame with roles in The Godfather trilogy, The First Wives Club, and multiple films with director Woody Allen. She earned Oscar nominations for her performances in Reds (1981), Marvin's Room (1996), and Something’s Gotta Give (2003). Her roles were often praised for their depth, humor, and charm, making her a beloved figure in Hollywood.
Her performance in Annie Hall immortalized the phrase “la-dee-da, la-dee-da, la-la”, reflecting her quirky and lively style. Keaton’s work was not limited to acting; she was also a director, writer, producer, and photographer, and she passionately restored historic California mansions.

Early Life and Career Beginnings
Born Diane Hall in Los Angeles on January 5, 1946, she was the oldest of four children. She later adopted her mother’s maiden name, Keaton, to avoid confusion with another actress. After a short stint in college, she moved to New York to study at the Neighborhood Playhouse.
Keaton’s big break came with her audition for Woody Allen’s stage production of Play It Again, Sam, which marked the beginning of a lifelong friendship and collaboration. Together, they created many classics, including Sleeper, Love and Death, and Manhattan.
Beyond Acting
In addition to acting, Keaton was known for her memoirs and personal revelations. Her books, Then Again (2011) and Let’s Just Say it Wasn’t Pretty (2014), shared insights into her life, including her struggles with bulimia in her twenties.
